Frequently Asked Questions
How does the high-density pixel grid improve the look of animated wall art?
The 520 RGBIC LEDs form a detailed 20 x 26 pixel matrix, helping uploaded photos, GIFs, and preset scenes appear crisp, colorful, and smoothly animated across the curtain.
Can I match the lighting to my bedroom, living room, or home office decor?
Yes. The modern white design blends with many interiors, while dimmable multicolor lighting, direct image uploads, and ten layered canvases let you create a personal ambient display for each room.
Do I need technical skills to create a custom wall display?
No. The Govee Home app provides an asset gallery, layered canvases, image and GIF uploads, and AI Lighting Bot 2.0, allowing you to build designs from a photo, text prompt, or spoken request.
How do the music modes make home entertaining more engaging?
Eight music modes sync the lights with sound and rhythm, making the curtain useful for parties, game nights, sports viewing, and relaxed evenings at home.
Can I control the curtain without taking out my phone?
Yes. In addition to app control through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, the lights support Alexa, Matter, Google Assistant, and the included physical controls.
Is this suitable for a living room where I want soft ambient light rather than a bright screen?
Yes. The curtain provides dimmable, multicolor wall lighting for a softer atmosphere and can display subtle scenes, uploaded artwork, or animated GIFs without using a conventional television.
Will a 4.9 x 6.6-foot curtain fit a small bedroom wall?
The 4.9 x 6.6-foot size is designed for compact accent walls. Larger 9.8 x 6.6-foot and 14.8 x 6.6-foot options cover broader living spaces without cutting or splicing.
Is the white curtain finish appropriate for a modern home?
Yes. Its clean white appearance is intended to complement modern interiors, and the colorful lighting becomes the visual focal point while the hardware remains understated.
How does this compare with a standard LED strip for wall decor?
Unlike a narrow strip, the curtain provides a broad, high-density pixel canvas for artwork, GIFs, layered scenes, and synchronized animations. An LED strip is more suitable for outlining edges or shelves.
How does this compare with a digital wall art frame?
A digital frame displays a flat image, while the light curtain adds glow, motion, color changes, and music synchronization. It is also suited to ambient wall lighting rather than only still artwork.
How does this compare with projector-based wall lighting?
The curtain uses individually controlled RGBIC LEDs to display defined images and animations without projecting from another device. Projectors may offer more flexible sizing, but the curtain is less dependent on placement and surface color.
Will the lights make my bedroom feel visually busy?
Not necessarily. You can lower the brightness, select a subtle preset scene, or use a calm color for understated ambient lighting. The curtain is also available in three sizes to suit different wall areas.
How do I set up the smart curtain lights?
Choose a suitable location, securely mount the curtain using the included hooks and straps, connect the control box and power adapter, and follow the Govee Home app instructions for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth pairing. Outdoor power accessories must be protected from moisture.
How do I upload and display my own photos or GIFs?
Connect the curtain to the Govee Home app, open the creative controls, and select a direct image or GIF upload. Compatible GIF files can be displayed as animated content and adjusted using the available canvas and effect tools.
How do I change scenes, colors, and music modes?
Use the Govee Home app or a supported voice assistant to select preset scenes, adjust brightness and color, and choose among eight music modes. You can also use the included buttons and Bluetooth or Wi-Fi control options.
Does it work with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Matter?
Yes. The smart curtain supports Govee Home app control, Alexa, Google Assistant, Matter, buttons, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Availability of specific features or services can vary by region and app configuration.
Can I use the light curtain with my existing smart-home setup?
The curtain is designed for smart-home use through Matter and supported voice platforms, as well as app, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi control. Check the current instructions and regional service availability before connecting it to a particular ecosystem.
What comes in the box, and what might I need to buy separately?
The package includes the light curtain, control box, power adapter, 12 hooks, and 22 plastic straps. Installation tools, a weather-protected electrical box for outdoor power-adapter use, and additional mounting hardware may need to be purchased separately.
Is the light curtain safe to use around children and pets?
The product is intended for decorative use and has an IP65-rated light curtain. Keep electrical components dry, follow the included instructions, secure the installation, and position the lights where they cannot be pulled down or chewed.
What should I do if the lights will not connect or respond?
Confirm that the power adapter and control box are properly connected, then restart the app and try Bluetooth or Wi-Fi control. Recheck network credentials, app permissions, and regional service support if the issue continues.
What is the difference between a smart light curtain and an LED video wall?
A smart light curtain uses a flexible grid of individually addressable RGBIC LEDs to create ambient artwork, animations, and music-synced effects. An LED video wall is a rigid, professional display system designed mainly for high-resolution video and fixed installations.
